Tho reaf gives fair dish prospocte, and tho face is improving. Mclsaao*. (Thames).—Tho low level drive ia passing through a nice, solid, sandstone country. Wo aro in a di.-.i.ance of 106 foeb. Upper level: I The rise holed through on Friday, and now wo have excollont ventilation. No birao will be lost in thoroughly exploring a section of the reef westward. Prospkct.—Tho eastern cro._i-.cur. is in 510 feet in splendid country for gold. Small veins are continually being met with, and the reef should ba struck ab any time. In the Smithy level small veins and dabs of quartz showing, which give good prospects. Fortuna No. 2.—-The three loot reef is highly oxidised, an! curries good mineral indications for gold, also splendid dish prospects. Napier.—No. 3 lcador shows colours of gold. GubAT United.—A two foot reef has been discovered near the Mid a.-' boundary, which carries gold in very small quantities.

Invicta. —The reef is now about 10 inches thick, and the hangingwail portion gives small dish prospects. Wynyaedton.—A loader six inches thick baa been cub in the drive.

PUKEWHAU. — Another nice leador has been cue in the hangingwail. The reef when broken down showed colours and dabs of gold in the stone. Ngrena.—A leader three inches thick has been cut in a trench on the Western spur.

Aokerr. —Tho reef ub the low level when broken down showed dabs of gold. Bos.-..—For bhe past week one man has been driving a croescut for the now reef or No. 3 reef. The drive is now in 17 feeb. I shall expect bhe reef some time next week. No. 2 reef is a solid body of quartz. Good minerals are beginning to out in an appearance again and tho reef looks very promising. Leading Wind (Manaia).—The new manager has taken charge of this mine and reports: •'From one of the leaders there are from six to seven tons of quartz saved for crushing which should give a good return.
