Tka-Iw, this day, Th« monthly meeting of the Council of the Thames School of Mines was held last evening. MrChas. Rhodes, of tha Kauri Freeholds Gold Estates Company, offered a medal lor the successful., competitor, in the examination for mining surveying weantly held.
A eonsigament of mining models will shortly arrive from Germany, which have been obtained by the Minister of Mine* for tbe school.
The resnlts of recant annual examinations of ttudeata will shortly be te band.
