OHINE_vIU_LI SYNDICATE. Mr Bayldon, the consulting engineer for the above company, has been occupied during the past few days in examining the property of tho Company and the works which are in progress. The fine shaft being sunk at Offharoa for the purpose of testing the lower levels of the old workings there is being advanced a3 rapidly as possible, until it has attained tbe depth at which it will bo necessary to provide a propor winding and pumping plant. Ab the northern end of the property the Elliotb tunnel is being steadily advanced, a distanco of 1,200 feot having jusb been completed, and a contract started last Monday for another 100 feet.

Mr T. Corbetfc has been appointed to tho management of this property, which is owned by an English syndicate, who have decided to spend £250 a month for twelve months in prospecting works, and if the results aro satisfactory ab the end of that period, the development of the claim on a large scale will be proceeded with. The ground is situated ab Owbaroa, adjoining the Marituna, and as its prospects have been pronounced good by competent judges, ib should, under Mr Corbett'a management, develop into a payable concern. There is one good sizod reef exposed on tho Nevada section, and some rich stone can bo gob in sovoral of the gnllies and small creeks in the property, oo that before tho end of the twelve months there should be eomothing of value found.
