The riding on one wheel, however, was very clever, and waa loudly applauded. At another interval Kerr gave an exhibition of trick cycling on s. "Spidor" machine, performing a number of very clover and difficult feats, which tvere watched with interesb. Tho exhibition concluded with the performance of several, feats on the one bicycle by Kerr and Kinasley, not the least surprising being one in which the latter stood on the other's shoulders. The officials ail desorve the highest praise for the manner in whioh the meeting was conducted. Everything went smoothly, tbe races were run well to time, the starfca were good, and nothing, in fact, was allowed to creep in, so far as the management waß concorned, to prevent the sports beingailtigbly successful for the first, or c.en any, mooting of the Club as they could possibly be. Of the officials who worked bard to ensure the success of the ■porta, Mr E. Morden, who acted as ..after,' and Mr J. P. Ilowden, the Secretary, deserve special mention. The judges were Meaera J. J. Holland (Mayor), Geo. fonlds and J. Fawcus.

Cycling Club Handicap (three dis-tances).-The one mile resulted : A. R. Barkor, scr., 1; F. Hunt, 10yds, 2; R. Hendry, 15yds, 3. A. Campbell held bhe lead (or the firab bwo laps. Hunt then dashed to tbe front, and a greab race ensued between the Rangitikei rider and Barker, the latter winning in tho last half dozea yards by half a wheel, about ten yards separating second and third. Time, 2toin 35 l_-sth sec.

Five Mile Bicycle Scratch Race.—A. E. Barker, 1 ; F. Hunt, 2 ; A. C. Forbes, 3, Six others started. The competitors sll kept together for the tirab bbroe laps, but at the end of bhe bhird lap Hunb and Barker spurted and drew away from bhe rest of the field. Wilraobb followed in pur-bit, but soon fell back, and eventually retired before completing tho distance. At the end of the tenth lap, Hunb and Barker were leading by half a lap, Forboa, Lyon and Hendry bringing up bhe rear, fishting for third place. The two leaders kapt together till the lasb lap, when * Rteati race ensued home, Hunb holding fiß lead till 10yds from tho post, whence Barker forged ahead and won by a quarter of a wheel. Barker gave an exhibition ride over one milo and attempted to pub up a record for the distance In the first three laps ho was paced by Willmob and Forbes on a Rambler tandem, and in tho lasb lap by Hunt. Fancy Costume Race.—R. Hendry, 1 ; J, McDormobb. 2; C. Curbeis, 3. The competitors had to run the first lap leading their machines, for three parts of the second lap to ride, and the remainder of the distance to run in sacks. McDermotb made good use of his running abilities in the first lap, bub was headed by Pardingbon in the second. In the sack race both i_lcDermofcb and Pardingbon fell.
