NEW ZEALAND AMATEUR BOWING ASSOCIATION.

Wellington-, Friday. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association held to-night Mr Seymour Thorno George (Auckland) was elected a Vice-Prosidenb, and Mr E. W. Burgess was appointed the Association's representative at Auckland. It was decided by 33 votes to 27 " That the Managing Committee of tho New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association consider a schema for providing the prize money for champion events at championship regattas, and if found practicable bben Bcbeme to apply to this season.'" Ib was decided on the voices that this season's championship regatta be hold ab Picton on date to bo fixed labor on. The application of R A. Pallamountain, a well known professional .culler, for reinstatemenb aa an amateur was rejected on the voices. The question of amateur definition to govern intercolonial contests was discussed, and it was decided no action be taken in tho matter ab present, and the question of representation of N.Z.R.A. in regard to intercolonial contests for 1896-97 was also shelved lor tho present. No action was taken in regard to the propoeal that the N.Z.A.R.A. should join in the agreement between the New Zealand Athletic Association, Bicyclists Alliance and Now Zealand Amateur Swimming Association governing diacaslificatLoiis and ■sspensions.
