With reference to the Pacific cable Sir Audley Coote states that negotiations are .drifting towards . the construction of the first section' between Amerrca and Honolulu. The Japanese are arweiously awaiting for the United States .Legislature to. pass an authorising Bill in order to get on to the world's commerce by a section of this cable.
