Auckland, September 9. There has beea little alteration in the poeition of affairs in the gum market daring the paßt week, if anything, the tone was a ehado firmer. As holders will not accept the prices offered by buyers, transactions are restricted. Supplies continue light, only 93 tone of gum having been received for the nine days of the present month. We quote average prices as follows: — Poor ordinary £28 to £30 Fair ordinary £38 to £40 Geod ordinary ... £46 to £48 Superior ordinary £53upward Eaeb Coast ... ... £75 i Good reecraped .„ ... ,-, £85
