This district ia one which is receiving a great deal of attention just now, and wi 1, ib ia generally believed, bo the seat of mining operations on an extensive and permanent scale in' the near future. The leading characteristic of the reefs in -thiß locality would appear to be their size, which, ib is given on good authority, runs up to 20 and 30 feeb in some cases, of low and medium gride oro of an average quality, which fact, it can bo easily understood, provides a strong attraction to capitalists who look- to large lodea for the carrying on of big works, with a certain, although moderate, bub regular return on the capital invested.
