BOARD OF EDUCATION.
At the ordinary meeting of the Auckland Board of Education hold yesterday, ib was stated that the resignations ot Mr A. Oldham, head teacher, Karangahake School, and Mr P. Peacocke, teacher Tauhoa, had been received. In accordance with c report of the Teachers Selection Committee, Mr F. Higginson was appointed to be head teacher of the Horahora School; Mias A. M. Irwin to be teacher of Greertoa aided school; Mr Howard Mabthewa to, be itineranb teacher at Waiheke School; Mr F. Mangham to be temporary teacheratFern Flat aided school; Mias J. J. Bayly to bo assistant teacher Point Chevalier School; Mi?a K. Duncan, to be aocond assistant teacher, Avoiidale School; Mr Thos. F. Warron, probationary pupil teacher to Otahuhu School; Mr W. D. J. Gately, probationer, from Otahuhu to Wollesleyetreet. A proposal by Mr Udy to leave the Chapel - street School and removo the scholars to tho old building in Howe -street on tho Girls' Might School Endowment, as a more suitable place, was referred to the City Schools Committee. An oner of land next the Richmond Road School waa referred to the Ponsonby Committee. Application for a second school at Otaika and i for a school at Tairna Block, were referred ito the Visiting Inspector and bhe ComImitteos.
