The body of a man, name unknown, was found in an old bub at Upper Pareora on Thursday. Ife is that) of an elderly man, apparently a sailor from his clothing, and almost) a skeleton. There is no clue as to his identity.
New Plymouth, this day,
Mr W. L, Newman, on retiring from the Union Company after 21 years' service, was this morning presented with a silver tea and coffee service, Mr Samuel, President ot the) Chamber of Commerce, made the presentation on behalf of the Chamber and friends, Mr Newman leaves on Tuesday on a trip round the world.
