DISCOVERS OF CINNABAR,
MINING MATTERS ACTIVE.
Mining matters are again active, and it ■a now reported fchab a largo reef of cinnabar ha* been found near Foroti.
Some excitement has bean caused by a sew find between the British Gold and Silver Mining Company's ground and the Fam&fcahinua Block. 200 acres have already b«en pegged out and applied for. _ The Whareora coalfield 13 also coming in far its share of attestion, and it is reported in all probability a strong company is to be Formed which will take over the field. The two seams juso uncovered are very much nearer deep water than any kitherto found. A railway line of about six miles long would reach deep water, where the largest vessels afloat) could be safely berthed without any trouble.
