SHOCKING OCCURRENCE.
A GIRL'S SCALP TORN OFF.

Christchurch, Monday. Miss Cunningham, 16, employed as a machinist a6 O'Brien's boot factory, had her scalp completely torn off by machinery to-day. The machinery ii well protected to prevent accidents ; but she stooped to look for 8 screw which another girl bad dropped, and her hair hanging down caught on tha shaft, her scalp being immediately torn oil. She was taken to the hospital, and the scalp replaced. It is not known yet whether it will adhere.
