The team juab defeated by the Australians comprises some of England's most noted players. Owing to the inability of Gunn and Shrewsbury to take part in the game at the lasb moment, thd team was not as representative as it might have been, but the victory of the Australian*, is, nevertheless, the most creditable tlu*y have yet secured since the commencement of the tour. This was considered one of their most important contests outsido the test mutches. Their next fixture is against Hampshire ab Soubhampton, and commences to-day.
