IN BANKRUPTCY.
Edgar Chichester Jones, civil engiueer and aurvoyor, baa filed his schedule ab the office of bhe Official Assignee in bankruptcy. Ea waa formerly in the service of the Public, Works Department, and after spending some time in New South Wales hs returned here in 1895, and took up some land at Papaknra on lease, bub in order to geb money to carry on the farm he went to the Thames, where he went in|io partnership with a Mr John Drummond The partnership was dissolved aubseqnently and in consequence of pressure for debts, he filed. His liabilities total £193 15a 4d and his assets amount to £123 10s 2d. He is unable to make any offer to his creditors. Aba meeting of creditors in the estate of Ernest H. BenneSt, a bankrupt, a boardinghouse' keeper and auctioneer ab Waihi, held yesterday afternoon, the debtor made a offer of 5s in the £, which was nob accepted. On the motion of Mr Buchanan ib was resolved to request the Official Assignee bo appoint Mr Chas. Tuck, of Waibi, to realise the estate, with Mesers Tanner, Brown and iNewdish as Advisory Committee. The jaeeting waß then adjourned till Thursday fortnighb, a resolution being carried asking the Assignee t» report on the books of the debtor, with a Tiew to his public examination.
