OUR GOLDFIELDS.

MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS.

StAr of Wtnyardto-?.— The manager telegraphed :—"Starting Sbar of Wynyerdton to-day. Timber ordered for continuation of the shaft."

Asteroid.—The main tunnel has been extended another ten feet.' The ground is very hard, and bad for shooting, aa ib is full of brighb minerals, with email stringers of quartz crossing the drive.

Moanataiari Extended.—Tbe low level on the No. 9 reef shows no change in appearance, and assays £1 la 6d per ton. Edgecumbe'B reef ia email, but as the drive advances to where rich gold was formerly gob in surface workings, this reef should improve in size and quality.

St. Patrick.—The drive on the main reef ia in 22ft and the lode etill maintains its size and quality. The reef ia two feet wide.

, Moanataiari Noeth.—The work of developing the reef known aa the 23rd of June from the Middlo Star tunnel is being attended with very fair results. The lode is fully two feeb in thickness, highly charged with minerals and shows colours of gold frequently. Tho extent of ground here ia not yet known, but judging by what can bo seen Mr Ross is of opinion that they are developing a valuable block.

Jewel (Wm.Hollis).—Since starting this mine, the drive has been extended 20ft on the reef. The lode is one of the nicest-looking and besb defined lodea I have seen in the district. Ib ia heavily mineralised quartz, and ia traversing a apl.odid sandstone country.
