LUCY AND HERALD SPECIAL
CLAIMS.
A moating of shareholders in the above special claims waß held at the office of Messrs Hampson and Porter, when a large number were present, holders of {50,000 shares being represented in person or by proxy. Mr A. Walker having beon appointed Chairman, a general discussion took place re the amalgamation of the ciaima, prospects of the property, immediate object of workiug, estimated expanses, etc., during which the following information waa elicited :—The Herald claim contains 87 acres, lies between Tokatea and Waikoromiko, bounded by the Forest Queen (now in the English market), the Tainui. and other claims. The Lucy (in future Lombard) conbaina 90 acres, and is bounded by bhe Monarch, Greab Western and Plunger. An extract waa read from bho Star of March 20th, 1896, giving a very favourable accounb of bhe Waikoromiko districb. It waa also stated that the intention waa to thoroughly proapecb the property and then place ib on bho Homo market. Ib was re.olvod to form a no-liability company called Rialto, with a capital of £4,000, divided into 80,000 shares of Is each. Mr H. J. Ross was appointed auditor ; Mr C. J. Parr, solicitor ; Mr J. H. Porter, legal manager; and the Bank of New Zealand bankers to the company. At a subsequent meebing of directors, Sir A. Walker was elected Chairman.
