The Auckland Caledonian Socieby's annual eporba, held ab the' Domain on New Year's Day, afforded an enjoyable day's oubing for some bwo or bhree thousand people. 300 Yds Amateor Handicap.—This was a walk over for A. H. Walker.
Tossing the Caber.—Six made attempts to put the caber over, but, with the exception of Donald Dinnie, had all failed when the caber broke, and tho competition came bo an end. The nexb beab attampb was made by Aibkenhead. He was awarded second prize.
Three Mile Amateur Bicycle.—Wilkinson, 270yde, 1; Surman, 200 yds, 2; Jourdain, 250 yds, 3. Time, Bmin 17sec. Won easily.
