A list of selections made from blocks of Crown land were opened for selection on 18th insb., consisting of 107,833 acres surveyed and unsurvoyed. These were thrown open and over 100 applications were received ab the office. The lands were principally in Whangarei counties. Many of the applicants interested ware present at the ballot this morning and there was a good deal of excitement as the resulb of the drawing for some of the more coveted sections was made known.
