ALLIANCE
SPEECH BY LORD BRASSEY,
Melbourne, this day. Speaking ab the Mayoral luncheon, Lord Brassey said he looked forward to the time when an offensive aed defensive alliance would be possible between all English speaking people. Such an alliance would extend civilisation, succour the oppressed, end secure bhe peace of the world. He would regard such alliance as sure to ba the certain prelude to a reduction of those floating armaments which were alike necessary and the greatest burden of the age.
