Woodstock.—The drive on tho Maria lode is being pushed ahead,bhe ore body having now been proved for a length of over 500 foeb in bhe face. The lode is being broken oub to a width ef fully four feet wir.houb any apparent sign of the footwall, so that ib will be seen a good supply of ore is being continually won, while another pleasing feature is bhab bhe quality is good. Stooping operabions overhead are in progress still, a block 403fb in length being explored with succesful results, the value of bhe ore varying bebweon £5 and £6 per bon. Rising on the Shepherd's lode, towards the No. 2 level, is also under way, bhe object being to tap if possible bhe water which cause so much brouble in the winze being sunk below the No. 2 level.
Midas. — The manager has cub into a large reef aboub 2 feeb, bub ia nob yeb bhruugh. Ib is in very favourable country.
