The fifty-mile cycling championship o! Victoria resulted: Parsons (South Australia), 1; Porta, 2; Broadbent, 3. Time, 2hra 7min 47sec, which is 13_nin 15 2-sth i=ec less than the previous Australian record for the distance. Tbe winner covered one mile in 2min 16sec. Tandems were uaed for pacing. Porta, who is an Italian, rode a fine race. Pither, bhe New Zealand rider, was amongsb the eleven starters, bnk, wibh bhe remainder, dropped out early in the race.
