OUR CRICKETERS.

THIS SEASON'S COMPETITIONS.

At a meeting of the Auckland Cricketers' Asaociation, held lasb evening, the various matters were arranged in connection with the cricket season for 1895-96. With regard to the season's competitions ia the three grades, four teams signified their intention of competing for the senior cup, nine for the first junior, and twelve for the second junior. In the senior cup, of course, the number of competitors ie the same at that of last year, bub in the other two there ia an improvement, especially in the second junior cup, which promises to give rise to a very interesting competition. Last year the number ot competitors for the first junior cup wa3 S; this year it is 9, Wanderers having dropped out, and Onehan&& and Ponsonby having entered. For the second junior cup there are some 12 competitors, as against 11 last season. The teams nob competing this year are Roller Mills, All Saints' and Selwyn, and the new teams entered are North Shore B, Grammar School, Surrey and Ponsonby 11. There was some talk of Ponsonby being able to enter two teams for this competition, bubib appears the idea has been abandoned. The following are the matches which hare been arranged to take place on October 19th (nexb Saturday week):— Sexiors. Auckland v. United. Parnell v. Gordon. Juniors. Ponaonby 1. v. Belmonb I. Onehunga v. Pitt-street. North Shore I. v. Gordon 11. Parnell 11. v. Unibed 11. Auckland 11. bye. Second Juniors. Clarence v. Auckland 111. Belmonb A v. North Shore B. North Shore A v. Surrey.
