COUNTY COUNCILS AND ROADS.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Since I bought thia place, we (myself, eons, and neighbour*) have paid bebween one *nd two thousand pounds to bhe County Council for rates, and yet we cannot get anywhere with a wheeled vehicle.
Anyone coming here, unless & horseman, bas to come by water from Heiensville or" Kaukapakapa. In 1553 I went from the South Head to Riverhead as easily as it can be done now, railway part excepted. If Mr Seddon's new Bill can improve matters for us dwellers in Mesopotamia and country folks generally, I, for one, shall be very grateful to bim.—l am, etc., F. D. FENTaN. Crosland, Kaipara.
