Sir, —Can you give any explanation for the persistent depreciation of Colonial Banlc shares. Some months since, during cho panic, they were quoted 15s. I instructed my broker to buy ; he waa unable to obtain any even at 20s, and they wont up to 23s 6d. Two days since they were quoted in your paper sellers 16a 6d, and at tho name time 1 received an inquiry from a broker for 200, offering 19s 6d.—l am, etc., SIIABKUOLDER, September 6th, 1895.
