Messrs Alfred Bitckland and Sons' i Report.—Ab the Hay market during the past wcok hand-bound hay has brought from 2s to 3s 9d ; oaten sheaves, 3s 6d to 3s 9d ; pressed hay, as the cwb ; oats, 2a to 2s 6d : maize, la lid to 2a the buahel ; bonedust, £3 to £5 10s ; potatoes, £1 158 ; carrots, £1 5s ; chaff, £3. 15s to £4 53 the ton. Maize on wharf, 13 9d and la lOd the buahel. Oh Friday horae stock wero ab labe values, Farm horsea ranged from £8 to £20. On Tuesday hides kept their price. Sboub ox ranged from 3|d to s£d ; cows, 3Ad and 3jjd ; calfskins, 3_d to 5Jd bhe lb ; tallow, 16stol7sthecwt; sheepskinsfurther improved in value, and ranged up to 5s 6d each. Sheep in moderate eupply, 917 yarded, sold irregularly, but on bhe whole were bebter worth from Is to 2a each, and were lowest ab conclusion of aale ; spring lambs in larger supply than hitherto; 50 sold broughb from 7s to 12s each. Pigs in moderate supply ; 40 sold, fully kept late values. Messrs Hunter and Nolan reporb:— Grain, seed, horsefeed : The demand noted last week has continued, and stocks have been large, particularly in maize, which wo quote: On wharf at Is lOd to la lid bushel; ex store, 2s 2d to 2s 3d ; feed oats, la lOd to 2s 2d ; white Tartarian, 2s to 2s 6d ; chaff, £4 5s to £4 10s ton ; bran, £4 5s ; carrocs, £1 2s to £1 ss. Horses have continued to be wanted, bub bhe number broughb forward has nob been ao largo. An average number were disposed of by aucbion ab the Durham Yards on Friday under sbeady competition. We quote: Heavy draught, £13 15s to £24 ; medium, £10 10s to £17 15s ; light harness, £4 10s to £12 10s; hacks, £3 10a to £10 15a; a wellmatched pair of carriage horses, £45. Wool, hidea, skins, tallow, bonea : A brisK demand has continued. We quote : Extra stout ox, worth s£d to 6_d ; stout, 4£d to 5d ; steer and cow, 3d bo 3Jd; calf 3kins, 4_d bo 5d lb. Bones, £2 17s 6d ton. Tallow, 15a 6d to 17a 9d cwb. Sheepskins : Local green, 3s 5d to 5s Sd ; country, la 9d to fas ; pelts, 8d :fco Is each. Wool: Small lots, 5d to s|d lb. Cattle : Fat beasts were less numerous than on the previous week, and advanced in value. A good many dairy and store stock were broughb forward and found purchasers at little alteration in values, Ab Newmarkeb there was rather a shorb muster in bhe butchers' pens, and there was an advance of £1 per head on good oxen. freely, There was a large muster ab the Papakura Yards on Wednesday. A good demand existed, and prices were in favour of the vendor. We quobe : Ox beef, £1 Is to £1 3a per 1001b; cow, £1 to £1 Is; dairy cows, £3 7s 6d to £6 15s ; dry cows, £1 lis to £3 ss; calves, from 16s to £1 5s ; yearlings, £1 7s 6d to £1 17s (id ; eighteeu-months'-old steers; £2 ; grown steers, £3 5s to £4 17s 6d. Some averages of steers were -. £8 17s 6d, £8 i)s 2d, £8 2s 6d, £7 10s, £7 8s 7d, £6 17s 4d : cows, £6 17s 6d, £6 12s 6d, £6 10s, £6, £5 15s, .£5 10a, £5 ss, £5, Sheep were in average number at Newmarket on Tuesday, met improved demand and advanced in value 2d per Sib; wethers sold ab from 9s to 15s 3d ; ewes, 7a Od to 14a ; hoggets, 6s 9d to 7s 6d ; spring lambs, 7s to 10s. Pigs in moderate number, were no higher in value; weaners cold ab from 4s 6d to 9s 6d ; porkers, 19s to £2 2b.
