London, August 17. The House of Commons, by a majority of 134, rejected Mr Dillon's motion, that an autumn session settle the Iriah land question. Sir M. W. Ridley, replying to Mr Clancy, naid he would not deny that the Irish universally' were in tavour of an amnesty for political prisoners. Full inquiries were being made, and the Judges were being consulted in each case. He positively declined to bold out hopes of a general release of dynamiters. Both Mr Balfour and Sir M. W. Ridley declared they would follow precisely a similar policy to Mr Asquith, the late Home Secretary.
