AUCKLAND V. HAWKE'S BAY.

■•■-• Napier, this day. The footballers had a splendid passage down the coaeb. At Gisborne we were met by Mr R. Robinson, Secretary and Treasurer of the local Union, and driven round the towD.

Only five of the team were ab dinner on Friday. Brady, Clarkin and Green suffered memb from sea-sicknese.

At the Napier wharf we were met by Mesers Fleming and Bennett, and driven to the Criterion.

The following team has been chosen to represenb Auckland to-day :—Maaefield, Abeolom, Riley, Surman, Ronayne, Braund, Stepheneon, Brown, Mille, McMillan, Murray, Gittos, Brady, Speight, and Clarkin. cßraund is ciptiain,'jand EdWonda vice-captain, * Speight has been added to the Selection Committee in the place of Wynyard. . Auckland are playing three "halves. The weather ie splendid and ground in good condition.

.Mr A. C. Bennett is acting as referee. The following have been chosen to represerib'Hawke'e Bay:—Full-back, J. Coghlan ; three-quarters, C. Bennett, J. Laws, and M.Macfarlane; five-eighths, J. Donnelly ; half-back, W. O'Connell ; wing forwards, S. Jago and S. Downey; forwards. W. Bill, A. Malcon, Barr, Geordine, P. Kelly, J. Toohey and A. Cheer.

Those standing oub of the Auckland team for to-day'e match are Clayton, Edmonds, Evitt, Martin, and Whitley. The New Zealand Rugby Union, ab Auckland's request, appointed Mr A. C. Bennett, Secretary of the local union, to act Qβ referee.
