A DISGRACEFUL SCENE.
A MEMBER EJECTED,
London, August 16.
The opening days of Parliament were marked by a very depressing ecene, which resulted in Mr Tanner, Nationalist member for Cork, being euspended for a week. He was noisy and insnltine, and at last called Lord Harrington " a liar."
Refusing to withdraw the expression, the Speaker named him, and, on Mr Chamberlain's motion, Tanner was suspended.
Tanner, greatly excited, lay back in hia seat;, implying that he would not retire, but, on the Sergeant-at-Arma advancing, he walked on to the floor of the Chamber, shouting that he was delighted to leave the "dirty House." Crossing over to the Treasury benches, he pointed to Mr Chamberlain, yelling " Judas "repeatedly, and finally elbowed a path through the crowded passage to the Bar of the House, ghoufcing on hia way " None of your nonsense." Tanner added to his riotous behaviour by seizing one of the members and shaking him by the coat collar.
Noae of the other Irish members gave him any support,
