Tbe most noticeable alteration of the first day's bill of fare of the First Spriug Meeting is the raising of the September Stakes (for 2 year-olds) to lOOsovs, The added money of the Spring Handicap remains at IKJsove, and the distance l& mile, bub the second horse receives ISsovs. A new race is introduced named the Maiden Handicap, of 40-Ovs, 7 furlongs. On the second day the Pakuranga Hunt Club Cup bf,4oiio'vs forma one of the attractions. Thore are three races of bOaovs each and three of 40sovs.

The Second Spring Meeting/programme is 00 much tho same lines ac last year, except that on tbe first day most of tho stakes are increased. The President's Handicap is raised to 60sovs, the Guineas to 20030V5, tbe Prince of Wales Handicap to 17550v8. and the Flying Handicap to 75»ovs, while the distance of the Hurdle Race is cut down to If miles. The only alteration on the second day is patting 15 eovß on to the Spring Handicap and Ellerslie Handicap. In the last named race the winner after declaration of weights carries 51b penalty.

The bill-of-fare for the Summer Meeting is worthy of theChristmastideand New Year hblidays. On the opening day the Trial Handicap is increased to lOOsovs, and lOOsovs is tacked on to the Auckland Cup, making the added money 600sovs, while the third horse receives 2050v3 instead of 15sovs. The condition "Sweep to be paid half-an-hour before the race" is struck out. With the exception of raising the Nursery Handicap from TOaova to lOOsovs, tbe other races of tbe first day's programme remain the same as last season. On the second day, the only races altered are the County and Maiden Handicaps, each being made lOOsovs, while the distance of the Pony Handicap is reduced to six furlongs. There is only one alteration to the bill of fare for the third day. Instead of the^Mu-kot Stakes is substituted the Royal Stakes of 500aovs, second, borse to receive lOOsovs and third borse 60sovs; distance, six furlongs. This race is subscribed for by the nominators. The three days' events of the autumn fixture show little difference compared with last season. The Tradesmen's Plate is raised to SOsovs, Onslow Stakes to 80sovs, Raiiway Handicap to SOsovs, Stewards' Handicap to 80_ova, and Shorts Handicap to 70.-.OVB.

Almost identical with the programme of last season is that of the North New Zealand Grand National Steeplechase Meeting. The Maiden Steeplechase i 3 increased to lOOsovs, and 20sovs is added to the stake of the Welter Handicap, while the same amount has been put on both Maiden Hurdle Races. The Grand National Hurdle Race remains at 250sovs, and bhe Greab Northern Steeplechase ab 400sovs. Altogether the programmes are worthy bhe Metropolitan Club of the Auckland province, and I hope the liberality displayed will result in increased profits.
