Messrs Hunter and Nolan report that the demand has been rather slack for maize, but for oabs there has been a brisk inquiry. They quote : Maize on wharf, Is lid bo 2a bushel; ex store, 2a 3d to 2s 4d : feed oats, Is lOd to 2s 2d; seed oats, 2s 3d ; bran, £4 10s ton ; oaten chaif, £4 58 to £4 10s ; carrots, per truck load ab station, £1 ton. The demand for horses has not been keen, and bub few of a good stamp were brought) forward. We quote : Heavy draught, £12 to £18 ; medium, £9 15s to £13 10s; light harness, £4 10s to £10 12a bd ; hacks, £3 15a to £9 10a. Wool, hides, skins, tallow, bones: A moderate number of hides, and a good many skina, wore pitched at the Durham Yards on Tuesday. There was good competition throughout the sale. We quote : Extra stout ox hides, 5d to 6d lb ; atoub, 4£d to 4£i ; medium, 3fd to 4d ; steer and cow, 3d to 3|d ; kip, 3d to 3£d ; caifekine, 3Jd to 4£d lb ; tallow, 16h 6d to 18s 6d cwt ; bones, £2 17s 6d to £3 ton ; sheepskins, local, 3s 6d to 4s 9d ; country, Is 6d to 4? 2ri ; poite and broken skins, 8d to Is 4d each ; lambswool, s^d lb. Cabbie, dairy and store stock have not been in great requesb, but fat beasts were wanted and maintained their value. The butchers' pens at Newmarket were moderately supplied. There was steady competition at the previous week's values. Dairy cows were not well represented, and dull of sale. Few stores were yarded, bub there was a good muster at Papakura on Wednesday, and competition was brisk. We quote: Ox beef from £1 to £1 2s 1001b ; cows, £1 ; dairy cows, £3 5a to £6 JOa ; dry cowe, £1 to £2 10a ; calves, 15s to £1 ss; yearlings, £1 2s 6d to £1 12a 6d ; 2£-year-old etoers, £3 10s to £4 ; grown steers, £4 10a to £5. Sheep : The Newmarket pens on Tuesday were well filled. Bidding was more animated than on the previous week, but the upward tendency was nob marked. We quote : Wethers, from 7s to 14s 9d ; ewes, 63 9d to 103 9d ; mixed sexes, 83 3d to 10b 6d ; aged store ewes, 2s 6d to 5s 6d. Pitre scarce. There was a slight improvement in value. Porkers sold at from 13s 6d to 32s 6d each. :

At Waiuku, od Monday, a moderate master of cattle were at late values. Quiob cowa ranged from £3 5s to £6 10s ; fat eowa, £4 to £5 5s ; 3-year-old steers, £4 ss; yearlings, £2; calves, up to £1 8s each. At Bemuera on Thursday, dairy cows near profit were dull of sale, prices ranged iroir. £2 16s to £6: store catlilo in limited numbers were better worth. Calves brought £1 Is ; dry dairymen's cows, £2 10i to £5; fab and young calves in less number than usual, fully kept late value. Fat; cattle in average supply, 198 sold, were firm at lasb week's quotations. Steers, £1 the lOOlba. Cows better worth than at lasb sale. Sheep of all classes abundant, ljßoo yarded, prices wore lowor than hibherto, near 2a each. Wethers, ranged from 4s 3d bo 13a ; ewep, 4s to 10s 3d ; an early lamb, 14s. Pigs in usual number, 70 yarded, sold freely at better values than lasb sale.
