WHAKAPIRAU.

At a public meeting held in No. 2 school, whan Mr W. H. Jackman presided, the following gentlemen were elected a Comjpibtee to carry oub the annual Horticultural and Industrial Exhibition :—Messrs Hi McMurdoj'F. Somner, H. Gray, fl. Smith and J. Robb. P. H. Gibson, Esq., ijras re-elected President, Dr. Montaine T'ice-President), and Mr J. Robb, Secrefiry. Ib was resolved that the show be held on or about the firßt week in December at Mr Forrester's Hall, the Whakapirau Mo of the Pahi River. 'The state of the roads was also discussed, and it was finally resolved to request the Whakapirau P. and A. Association to draft a petition to the Minister of Public Works, asking for assistance to connect with the Great North Road. V • The following officers were also elected by the Whakapirau P. and A. Association, via:—Mr W.H. Jackman, President; Mr P. H. Gibson, Vice-Presidenb; Mr H. Gray, Secretary ; and Messrs Somner and Robb, auditors.
