Sir,—As fchd "Herald" refused insertion to my letter pi the 19th of April on , the above subject! which you afterwards published on the 25bh of April, perhaps you would faybur me by Inserting the following remarks on the "Herald's " leader of today. First, I would wish distinctly to state that the gum merchant) referred to .by the "Herald" is -not myself. Secondly,' as. you ..wrote in your article <tt April.sfcb, "It doea | nob follow thaitt' oVtry gum merchant 'or broker Woulcf'buy at such prices,* any more that e"ve"ry briber is a buyer of a particular stock at* t&ei qjaotied rate." Buyers have their own •«üßßoßtierff and regular sources of supply, and as a rale will nob bny from customers eenb them directly or indirectly by their opponents. What we want is the truth both in designation of qualities and prices r 'if for no obher reason than to confirm the- correctness of purchases for .those who entrust us with orders from Home.—l am,
