The annual soiree and concert of-the Drury Band of Hope was held in the Public Hall on Tuesday,;and was well attended, 140 being present. Tea and other good things were abundantly provided. The 'Rev. Fred Laurie, who, with their; eldesb sons, were drowned on April the 25th ulbr, resolve that a subscription fund bd raised on bheir benalf." 2. "That a Committee of the following names, with power to add to bheir number, be appointed to collect eubscriptionßaßp«r resolution and to convene a meeting of the subscribers ab some convenient time and place not later than 28th insb. to allocate the funds subscribed in sach; manner as the meeting shall determine." Collectors were appointed to canvass for subscriptions, which will be acknowledged through bhe Auckland Siab.
