London; March 22. News has beeii received .of a collision between the British" warships Alacrity and Centurion, which has occurred in the harbour of JVei-hai-Wei. A number of seamen wene drowned in the harbour owing to the fact that a lifeboat which put off to render them assistance became nearly swamped and was rendered useless.
