The Hon. Mr Carroll has been visiting thl natives at Taumaranui, up the Wanganu. River, chiefly to settle disputes as te boundaries of reserves. He told them an j attempt to interfere with the surveyor* would be sbernly repressed. The nativof replied with a friendly assurance bhab the negotiations were quite successful, and arrangements were begun for laying out & township at Pipiriki.
