The arbitrators in the Midland Railway case have decided to appoint an umpire. If a qualified man cannob be found in outside circles, ib is believed a Supreme Courb judge will be asked to officiate. Mr Bell having retired, Mr Hutchison will acb as senior counsel, with Mr Theo. Cooper, of Auckland, as junior.
