GOLDMINING IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA.
Pekth, March 29. The lode has again been picked up in the Caledonian mine, better known as tha Brilliant^mine, which had been abandoned '.. by former owners when the vein of gold pinched out aba depth of 33ft. The reef was discovered within a few feeb of the old workings, and ibs development will be of , immense value to the district generally, as , ib was previously thoughb the reef did not* ~ go down. ; Water has been struck on the Glasgow* Company's lease.. The flow is estimated at 3,000 gallons an hour.
