The annual regatta ab Tauranga will be held to-morrow. Mr Bluck, of Welcome Bay, will not be able fco sail his yachb in consequence of an accident, and hia bfeat has accordingly been withdrawn frotri bhe yacht race. Ho was thrown from his horse near the township and broke the small bone of his righb arm. He is now gebbing on well under Dr. Porter's care. ~_,*_
Last Thursday evening a party of friends arid well-wishers of Mr P. M. Thomson, local manager of the Equitable Life Assurance Society, meb to wish him farewell and prosperity on his departure to Sydney next Wednesday, whither he has been called by tbe head office. During the evening Mr Thomson was the recipient of a small souvenir in recognition of the esteem in which he is held.
At a picnic held on Saturday afbernoon ab the. residence of Mr J. L. Wilson, Remuera, Madame Edwardes-Moore gave a shorb lecture, on the methods of regaining hoalbh by means of the Viavi troafcmenb. The lecture was listened to with interesb by a large audience. 7
