ROMAN CATHOLIC SCHOOLS
AN APPLICATION FOR INSPECTION
At to-day'a meeting of the Board of Education a letter was read from the Roman Catholic bishops of Wellington and Dunedin making application for the Board to authorise tho inspection of Roman Catholic schools' in the Auckland district under their respective management. _ The Chairman said a similar application had been made a year ago and declined. In answer to » question, the Rev. Mr Bates said that two Boards had agreed to the request. After some discussion the Board decided to defer consideration of the matter for a fortnight, the Chief Inspector to be present at the meeting and confer with the Board.
