GISBORNE.
The Gisborno Borough Council recently declared for Wednesday as tho half-holi-day, but owing to an informality the special resolution was declared -ultra vires, and a fresh meeting was called. This second mooting, to which much interest was attached, as it was expected Saturday would be decided on as the day, on the casting vote of the Mayor, also resulted in a lizzie, nob having been called in accordance with section 110 of tho Municipal Corporations Act. Consideration of the matter is now postponed till the 28th instant.
