THE WAIRARAPA RELIEF FUND.

A MEEtfisG of the sub Committee/of the Wairarapa Relief Fund has-been converted by \lt Barber, Uon;! secretary,;* to bo held to-morrow evening at the -payor's room, Municipal -Building. The meeting ia called for the purpose of considering all the claims, and recommending to/ the General Committee a final'scheme of distribution, of *the fund raisbd- in Auckland, which now reaches a total of nearly £L 350 (including special contributions for Mrs McDonald's children.). . : .: 'r. ■ ,In reply to'atelegram/senb to, the.Mayor df Dunedin asking tor suggestions as to the.dispoßal of tlie,contributions raised for Mr3 McDonald's children, the following telegram has been received :—" We think we have made ample provision for the McDonald family and all other cases we know of, and to do more would be making them better off than if the bread-winner were living. Christchurch Committee want all money collected distributed among the sufferers whether it is required or not. To do this would, 1 think, be an act of folly, and I do nob think you can do better than endorse our resolutions. Wo shall require about £500 more than we have/to fulfil our scheme, bub after fully providing for all cases there will, bo far as I can see, be over £1,000 left, aud this we think should be returned to each Committee pro rata of their contributions for future disasters of a similar character.— fl. ,»_• Fish, Mayor, Dunedin. , , . ; ,
