THE STEAMSHIP TONGARIRO.
COLLISION WITH A WHARF.
Hoeart, this day. While tho steamer Tongariro was leaving the wharf in charge of a harbour official, she crashed into the wharf, through, ib is supposed, the order at " half speed astern" being misunderstood, and tho vessel going half speed ahead. The Tongariro did nob sustain the slightest damage, but 25 foot of the wharf waa destroyed.
