Christchuech, this day. At the Magistrate's Court, Alex. Malcolm was committed for trial on a charge of attempting suicide by taking " Rough on Rats.".1 Accused stated that he had very little work during the pact five week?. He had lived unhappily with hie wife, who would nob stop ab home and look after her children. On two occasions the children bad broken into a school, and were always allowed bo run about as they liked. When the accused chastised them the house was made a regular hell on earth, and when he got out of work hie wife always threatened to summons him. In consequence of all this he became miserable, and decided to do away with himself.
