STEEPLE CHASING FATALITY AT BRISBANE.
A MELANCHOLY CATASTROPHE.
The Point to Point Steeplechase, under the auspices of the Brisbane Hunt (Hub, had a sad termination at Cooper's Plain. Mr Charles Mortimer, ased 19, the son of a very old and respected resident of Cooper's Plain, was endeavouring to jump his hor?e over a fence, when the animal struck and foil upon its rider, killing him instantly. The accidenb took place a ehort distance from the residence of the parents of the'deceased, who had given an invitation to the members of the club to luncheon. Ab the time of the tragic occurrence the members of the deceased's family were awaiting the arrival of the i gueeta to partake of the luncheon.
