OBITUARY.

Mr W. W. Lepine died on September 23 at his residence, John-street, Ponaonby, after a very* short illness. Deceased was a printer by trade, and had been employed for many years in the general printing department of the Star office. Mr Lepine, who was in his 46th year, was an "ardenb Forester, and for some eight) years past has been Secretary of Court Zeal^ndia, N 0.'"4,741,.'"4,741, of that Order. Tho Hon. Robert Harb, M.L.C., died on September 16t!i at Wellington. He was 80 years' of age, and had been 51 years in Wellington. He had been ailing for some time, and was nob able to be present in his place in the Council this session. In his younger days he was a well-known barrister and solicitor, and for years was principal member of the firm of Hart and Buckley (now Sir Patrick). It is with regret that we have bochronicl6 the death of Mr J.'J.Swinnerton; of this city, who died suddenly at Christchurch on Sept. 17. Deceased, who had been suffering 'from heart disease/dropped dead in the Addington Cemetery. He waa in business in a large way,as a wood-turner, his business premises being situated in Wyndhamstreet. *' Mr Swirrnortoir ' was ab the time on a visit South, and had been a spectator of the football game played on the previous Saturday between New South Wales, and New Zealand. Daceased who has resided inthe colony many years, was 63 years of ago ab tho time of his untimely doath. He leaves a large family, most of whom are grown up, to mourn his loss.
