THIS AWANUI.
Today-.an inquiry into the strandiug of the schooner' Awanui clote to Orati .Point was held before Mr Alex Rose, Collector of Customs. The evidence of Captain Skinner, the master, was to the same effect as the ■ account) 'of the. stranding already published in these, columns.. A. Martin, rthe mate and Robert, Gregory, super-cargo, also gave evidence, which corroborated that given by the captain. The evidence taken at the .inquiry bo-day will be forwarded to bhe Marine Departmenb ab Wellington.
