The SupreCM Courb was opened this morning by Judge Connolly. The grand jury found true bills againsb Wemyass, charged with forging and uttering at Monaia, and Speighti'or porjury. Wemysa pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 12 months' with hardJabour.
An interesting cutter race is to take plaCe in the harbour nexb Saturday afternoon, between crews picked by H.M.e. Rapid and tbe Auckland Naval Artillery Volunteer Company. The Rapid has tho reputation of being the best rowing ship upon the station, while the Auckland Volunteer Company's pulling roon have in their numerous struggles'■.with nearly every^ man • of - war which baa visited Auckland put up an almost unbeaten record. A forry steamer) is to follow the race, having on board the Artillery Band.
