A meeting of tha Aucjtland Waste Lands Board was held to-day, Meßers Gerhard Mueller, Commissioner (pre-idipg), Bagnall and Lundon, being presenb.

Te Kcmi Block.—A memo, was received from the Surveyor-General stating thab Te Kumi No. 1 block of 26,000 acres, near Cape Runaway, Eaeb Coa'sti-bad been/purchased and was now open for settlement. J—lb was resolved nob bo throw open'any of this land until reported on, and until some of bhe. land between ib and the sea coast had been acquired by the Government. - Deferred Payment' Selectors. —The Surveyor-General wrote in reference to deferred paymenb selectors who had failed to pay capitalised amouhbs within the time given, etc.—lb was resolved that ponding legislation on the subject, tho Receiver be instructed to'continue to accept payment of balances of. instalments due, also that interest be charged againsb those deferred paymenb selectors who are six months or more in arrears with.balance paymeuts.

The Board thoughb_ib inadvisable to lock up these lands for 21 years on the conditions proposed by Mr Houston.

Kauri Timber.—lt was resolved to offer for sale by auction 975,000 feeb of kauri timber, standing at Boab Harbour, Parish of Hahei, ab an upset price of 9d per 100 feeb.

Land fob Gommgqers.—Aftor some discussion, ib was resolved to throw open a block of waste land.in tbe extreme North, in the parish of Mariwbenua, fronting on Rangaunu Bay, and running up to tbe Kaikino River, for settlement by gumdiggers. Tho land is to be surveyed and opened for selection, in 20 Ho 25 acre sections, and if the experiment be successful, more sections will bo extended back from the sea. Each 'section is to have a frontage of ten chains to the sea beach. Lands Disposed of.—The Chief Clerk submitted the following statement of lands disposed of from tho 18th Augusb to the 15th insb., in the Auckland province:—On occupation with tight, of purchase, \2, 726 acres; lease in .perpetuity,, l^lO acres ; otherwise leased, 1,103 acres; total, 35 selectors of 5,299 acre?. ?\b£Vtt.« i i .
