A RABBITER SHOT DEAD.
Melbourne, September 10. A telegram haß been received from Hillsbbn to the effect thab on Saturday nighb a rabbiter named Thomas Clune, employed at Uabba station, shot a rabbiter named John Lambkin dead with a revolver. Clune was charged to-day with murder at the Police Court, and was remanded to the Coroner's Court. He has made the following sbatemenb to bhe police :—"The deceased came bo my camp to take some dogs away. I asked him not to do it. I had as much right to them aa be. The deceased said he would, and be used bad language to me. I then fired three shots. I did nob think the shots hib him ; bub I could not Bleep, and wenb bo look, and found his dead body." The accused gave,himself up bo the police. Both men are well known here.
