LATE PARLIAMENTARY.

(BS telegraph.—parliamentary re

porter.)

Wellington, thi3 day. THE ALDIS CASE.

Some time ago I stated that there was every likelihood of the Aldis case being brought np on the floor of the House. That likelihood haa been increased since tho lotitionsCommibtee declared thab they iiud no lecomraendabion to make in regard to the Profes.«oi'a petition. I understand that Sir R. Stout will take tbe matter up, and champion the Professor in the House. Mr Button, who pub the Aldis case beforo tho Petitions Committee, seems nob to have boen able to convince thab body of the justness of the Professor's claims. •THE PHARMACY BILL. A circular signed by a number of chemists and herbalists bas been issued to members requesting them to oppose the Pharmacy Bill on the ground " that ib is in reality a Chemist.' Monopoly Bill, and would, if passed, be detrimental to the public welfare." Special objection is taken to the clause providing tfaat an apprenticeship of four yeara must be served before anyone can become a chemist, and they designate the clause aa "most selfish." They contend thab the possibility of becoming a chemisb should be open to all who have education and other natural qualifications enabling them to pass the necessary examinations. THE CHEMIS CASE. Mr Mills intends proposing an amend" menb to the Criminal Code Act to enable tho Chonais case to be broughb before the Courb of Appeal. OAMARU STONE. Mr Gay, agent for Oamaru stone, is interviewing members with a view to obtain reduction in railway freight for tho carriage of Oamaru atone on all Government lines in the colony.
